Chris S 2017 Best Sellers Report

Postby rayne5446 » Fri Jul 14, 2017 8:55 am

Below is a list of my personal best sellers of 2017 (books I've sold) and a little bit of commentary. Hope someone finds it useful or interesting. Feel free to share your own cornbread concerning sales in this thread.

AQ 28 Steampunk Variant. This book went nuts for a while and was selling anywhere between 50 and 100 dollars. It seems to have settled back down to 25 bucks.

UXM 493 2nd Print. This book should be on everyone’s hunt list. In high demand, fairly easy to find for cover, and can sell for upwards of 40 if patient. I’ve gone through about 15 of these.

All-New Invaders 3 and Magneto 2 variants were really hot when Seven to Eternity first came out. Never ignore the cheap VF and F variants on MCS. They are always in great condition. With that said, these books have really cooled off. Lucky quick flip.

Avengers Assemble 17 Variant. Surprised to see this on my list, but any rare Captain Marvel variant seems to eventually sell for good money. This is one that isn’t on a lot of people’s radar and is still be out there in the bins for cheap.

Batman 47 Ross Color Variant. Great book. Slow burn. Wish I had more copies. One of the main reasons I’m holding onto the Suicide Squad 16 variant.

MMPR 9 2nd Print - I’ve sold so many copies of this book for 15 dollars. This book only got brief attention from the spec community, but sold extremely well for months after the release. Sales have slowed, but prices have not dipped. It’s a first appearance that likely has a print run in incentive variant numbers (doesn’t appear on Comichron). The low print run has never really been advertised on CBSI. Little movement in 50$ slabbed copies makes me think most of these sales are coming from actual fans. I really don’t know squat about MMPR, but I do find this book interesting because of the low print run and first appearance.

No big money to be had, but the Star Wars Force Awakens Rey Photo Variant seems to be a slow burner. Has sold pretty well for me. Still holding a few.

Convergence 7 can sell decently if the market is timed right, but these have been part of the DC variant flood. It's usually really cheap though. I am always looking to buy high grade copies of Convergence 7 for <= 10 bucks (still haven't found a 9.8). Long term hold for me unless the price is right.

Venom 3 Campbell Variant
Gamora 2 1:25 Variant
WW 90 CBCS 9.8

Nah. I should preface that I'm not a big operation, so not talking about hundreds of sales or anything here (in some cases, I may have only sold 1 or 2 copies).
