What Is The #CBSIBOLO List?

The Bolo List was created, initially, as an Instagram exclusive piece of content I dubbed comics cliff notes. A cheat sheet of sorts, the purpose of the Bolo list is to give CBSI Nation the most up to date information as LCS doors open on NCBD.

The Bolo list is not a list of books you should buy or books that will rise in value.  It's simply a reporting of what we are seeing in social media response and chatter, talk within our community, initial Ebay sales, as well as communication with retailers and posted online spoilers.

Similarly,  every 1st appearance in a given week may not be covered. We only list first appearances that are confirmed first hand or by multiple reputable sources PRIOR to NCBD. No delentiation will be made for full vs. Cameo Appearance as it is for the market to decide and that can not be done until after the books have hit on release day.

The Bolo List is ⅓ of CBSI's NCBD attack with Simpleman's Weekly Picks and The Wed One. I am very happy to be bringing the Bolo List to ComicBookInvest.Com and all our readers. Be sure to follow us on IG (@comicbookinvestcbsi) for other Exclusive CBSI BOLO content.

AKA Mr. BOLO'S Long Term Play

We are months away from Valiant's first foray into the big screen and around a month from the trailer hitting theaters ahead of Zombieland 2. This will be the litmus test for Valiant and the secondary market. There are certainly detractors, but I love these stories and characters and am really hoping the movie delivers. My man Dinesh Shamdasani (former Valiant CEO and producer on the film) seems confident, so I am excited.

There are lots of great Bloodshot keys and high ratio hard to find variants but since many of #CBSINation are new to Bloodshot and Valiant I figuired I would highlight some Homage covers as homages are all the rage right now for collectors. Bloodshot Reborn is a great jumping on point as well for readers who want to get in on Bloodshot before the movie as well as the brand new #1 dropping today! Most of these variants are 1:20 Incentives. The time may be now to grab Bloodshot's hot variants before he takes off IF the movie reaches its potential.

There are no guarantees here of course. But, for speculators, the doubters are your best advantages. Prices are dirt cheap and IF the movie isn't success, demand will sky rocket. BOLO

Bloodshot Reborn #1 has a gold variant, a homage to all Valiant gold #1s, very meta.

I fell off the Valiant train sometime in the 90’s. Those homage covers are pretty sick, so thanks for the look. I may be looking for a few of those soon.

I’m always the biggest Valiant fan in the room, and I usually either get ignored or thrown out. But I am not getting my hopes up. It may be a decent movie considering it’s pedigree, but just over a week ago Paramount got the rights to Harbinger and who knows what other characters. So that puts the kybosh on any shared universe for Bloodshot. Since Dinesh left all the IPs have been pretty much auctioned off to several studios by the new owners DMG, a Chinese company headed by Dan Mintz. All he cares about is getting money for the IPs and not making solid movies, and definitely not making a shared universe. It’s a shame.

Valiant is the 3rd largest shared universe in comics, and most people won’t give it the time of day because they don’t have a multimedia presence. Another shame, because up until Dinesh left those were the best stories around. The last 2 years have been abysmal.

As a fan from the 90’s it’s so hard to see Valiant still struggle. Dinesh was on to a good thing. Spec-wise, Valiant will always have it’s fans, and so many of their books are sub 10k, not to mention the incentive variants. So there is a TON of investment potential. I just hate to see these characters so neglected and treated this way. But even I’ve reached a point where after 25 years of waiting for something to happen, I just don’t care anymore. That said, if Dinesh 2.0 steps in and re-builds, again, I’ll be there.
