Well, when you can’t afford MK’s 1st appearance, I guess you turn to this 1st solo story. I don’t put a lot of stock in these types of books, but I don’t make the rules and all time highs are falling across the board: 7.0=$150; 8.5=$210; 9.2=$400; 9.8=$1500

Hey Ben, thanks for picking me for the random comment for the week.
Did you guys get my email? I sent it, but didn’t get a response.
Awesome work Ben. Missing out on that Marvel #1000 for $45 may end up haunting me
Awesome job, Ben! You have killed it with this column for years! Always the pulse of the market despite some detractors who have nothing to provide!
I thought The Savage She-Hulk #1 might of got a mention this week that books is flying! But great list I look forward to this every Friday it’s a bit of a personal highlight of the week…😎👍🏼
~ $100 for Batwing #19??? Wow, speculation is a crazy thing.
FOMO is a helluva thing. It, rather than logic, seems to be driving most speculators these days.
absolute madness! still, I’m glad I picked up a couple of those a few years ago for less than a dollar. Now I just have to find them in whatever long box I put them in before they go cold again, as they no doubt will pretty soon
The IIM #9 regular cover is moving as well not sure about the variant of #9 (Age of Apocalypse variant). Regular covers are gaining momentum…BOLO SAID ROI is always a long term play on the regular covers for first appearances.
Makes sense at least, so that’s good to hear. Better cover, with Riri Williams actually on it, and her first “full appearance”. Although I find it quite frustrating that so many new characters are teased over multiple issues, rather than just good old fashioned first appearances like they used to be in the old days, it’s nevertheless refreshing that there is some movement on the more significant book for the character, rather than just the one that would just come up in the google search for her first appearance, but that probably wouldn’t hold as much actual value for the fans of the character over the long term, as she’s barely in IIM#7
Something Is Killing the Children #1, not sure why that made the list, especially when another BOOM book (Once & Future #1 3rd Print) outshone it this week.
SIKTC (Frison) is a $10 easy to find book.
Ive been to 10 shops this week around my area and I only saw one copy and it was for a pull and hold. The title wasn’t ordered heavily at shops at least in my 90 square mile area.
Once and Future on the other hand had quite a bit of hype before it came out. Just at a quick look it has 450 listings where SIKTC has only 233 with 108 being Frison related. listings. One is holding value at $10-20 while the other is selling 1st prints for $5.99 still.
Lets see where it lands once the presellers run out of copies.
You’re making the wrong comparison, I was specific:
Something Is Killing the Children #1 (Frison)
Vs
Once & Future #1 (3rd Print)
I don’t get the hype/love for moonknight. Analog characters have always been kind of meh in my opinion. Are these moonknight books that scarce? Or is there that much demand?
I have been tracking these Moon Knight books. Obviously his first appearance is Werewolf By Night 32, I think these books will go down in value after 2 months after D23 announcement. All the hype will be over but I could be wrong.
As always, I enjoy reading these. Amazing Spiderman 347 is the best Larsen ASM cover in my opinion. It’s very eye catching and I bet it will probably hover around higher price point as more people .
I sold a few Green Lantern #48’s this past week due to speculation Kyle Rayner may show up in a new HBO Max series. Not sure how true this may be, but he WILL show up eventually. There are also DCU variants of GL 49, 50, 51 so be on the lookout for High grade copies of those!

I’m 0 for 12! What’s the opposite of “NAILED IT!!”?
😂
A lot of books this week moving on basic rumors with nothing solid. Hate to be on the wrong end.
Quoted for truth.
I’m surprised the first appearance of Sleeper in Venom: First Host #3 (or perhaps it was #2) didn’t make the cut, as there’s been lots of movement on that title following the recent link of next week’s Venom comic.
Has there been confirmation for the Riri project? I must have missed that. Can’t wait for DCs next mega hit, BLACKMAN. Will there ever be Donny Cates fatigue?
Everyone keeps saying Spawn hitting 300 is a record breaking run for an independent title. But I never hear what the old record was. I can’t think of any other book that was even close to 300. Your thoughts?
Cerebus
Good call, thanks
idk about uncanny xforce 25 being bad spec, it’s the 1st appearance of several interesting characters that form the omega clan, bio genetically created beings from omega Red’s DNA. the story is intriguing, the only copy I could find at any of my 3 LCS was in the dollar bin, not sure of the print run but it also has a wolverine origin story and a pretty funny deadpool story by Remender. I can see this book maintaining in the 10-20$ range longterm especially if the omega clan stays relevant in the upcoming X-reboot. Something I would encourage everyone for to keep an eye out in their weekly digs = Uncanny Xmen 316, 317. First appearances of Generation X and related Characters, the recent House of X #4 had a Jchristopher action figure of M who is a twin sister mutant that makes her 1st in 316, theres 2 variations of the book and I couldn’t help but think why put her AFigure on the cover if she wasnt going to be featured more prominently in the future, just something to think about, also Phalanx: Generation Next is a great story I recommend for any X fans, it was a crossover event between Xmen, Uncanny x-men, and Xforce.
nuff said!
PS. The MMMS want YOU!
Wooooo, I had my copy of ASM 347 signed by Larsen a few years ago. He was very nice, always a friendly person to meet at cons, and quite happy to sign such a well-regarded cover.
I have such a wave a excitement every time one of my old books appears here. Love it!
Those Talon books are insane. Why would anyone pay more for one of those then say a 1st Gambit or the like? These people tossing around big money on minor spec are going to regret not picking up major 1sts instead down the road I believe.
*Batwing not Talon. I’ve always gotten those two mixed up for some reason
