#CBSIBOLO List For NCBD 8/21/19

What Is The #CBSIBOLO List?

The Bolo List was created, initially, as an Instagram exclusive piece of content I dubbed comics cliff notes. A cheat sheet of sorts, the purpose of the Bolo list is to give CBSI Nation the most up to date information as LCS doors open on NCBD.

The Bolo list is not a list of books you should buy or books that will rise in value.  It's simply a reporting of what we are seeing in social media response and chatter, talk within our community, initial Ebay sales, as well as communication with retailers and posted online spoilers.

Similarly,  every 1st appearance in a given week may not be covered. We only list first appearances that are confirmed first hand or by multiple reputable sources PRIOR to NCBD. No delentiation will be made for full vs. Cameo Appearance as it is for the market to decide and that can not be done until after the books have hit on release day.

The Bolo List is 1/2 of CBSI's NCBD attack along with Simpleman's Weekly Picks. I am very happy to be bringing the Bolo List to ComicBookInvest.Com and all our readers. Be sure to follow us on IG (@comicbookinvestcbsi) for other Exclusive CBSI BOLO content.

Yo Joe! It's Movie Time!

Just one look at my logo and you know right off the bat, I'm a die-hard GI Joe fan! I have been saying for months I am very bullish about all Hasbro properties movies under the banner of Allspark Productions post Bumblebee Release (Transformers, GI Joe, Mask, and Power Rangers). But now, with The Hollywood Reporter (legit mainstream news source) reporting that two Joe movies as re on the way (a team reboot, and solo Snake Eyes film) the time to grab these issues is now!

The best way to turn a serious ROI into grab books far before the competition is. For that reason plus my love of these Real American Heroes, I have been hoarding Joe books and over a multi part series in the coming months (will release periodically) , I will take you to Joe school! Here are some early run issues to look for when you are bin dignifying!

GI Joe #1

This is the most obvious pick. Certainly not a stealth buy, I could still argue this is and undervalued pick up. This books boasts some major first appearances including the Joe Team, Main Villains Cobra Commander and Baroness, and several Heroes including Scarlett, General Flagg and most importantly Snake Eyes.

GI Joe #11

GI Joe #11 gives us a full on battle issue where new Joe's are called to battle. Some of the most notable are Gung Ho, Snow Job, and Wild Bill. Several key Joe and Cobra vehicles first appear in this issue. I have a feeling if Joe really takes off like it has the potential too, these iconic vehicles that were so important to Joe fans will be key 1sts just as the character's themselves. Other than Gung Ho, the other main 1st appearance in this issue making it a must grab is a shadowy cameo of GI Joe's other main villain Destro!

GI Joe #14

In this issue we finally get the much anticipated “Full” 1st appearance of the dastardly Destro. The issue is aided by the awesome Destro Cover appearance. This issue would pair nicely with #11 when these issues finally get their just due!

GI Joe #21

This issue is another no brainers and not a cheap find, but is undervalued at the moment. This issue is famous for being dubbed “The Silent Issue” for no dialog appearing throughout the book. This issue gives us a 1 on 1 battle between Snake Eyes and his long standing nemesis Storm Shadow who 1st appears in this issue. With Snake Eyes getting a solo movie, this issue is as important a pick up as any.

GI Joe #22

This is another key 1st appearance issue that allows us to hedge our bets with not 1 but 2 key 1sts appearing in this issue. It's amazing this book didn't take off with the last series of movies as it features the first appearances of both The Rock's (Roadblock) and Channing Tatum's (Duke) character's respectively.  Roadblock is key foe Joe team diversity being originally an African American team member and Duke personifies the GI Joe's and their role as true American heroes. Duke is often the team's leader. Both characters 1st appearances are must grabs as I would expect both (but at the very least Duke) to be a big part of the reboot. Also that Destro cover is so cool!

So there you have it, as requested by The Simpleman's Comics Family Patreon Group, Part 1 of a deep dive into GI Joe speculation.  I hope if you're new to Joe lore this gives you an intro into some Joe issues to pick up. These few are maybe the most important issues released in Joe history and issues like #11, #14, and #22 are under most people's radar.

Bolo for 1st vs 2nd prints. Traditional Spiderman adornes first prints while Black Suit Spidey adorned the 2nds. Having said that, there seems to be little to no pricing difference between the two.

But now you know!, and Knowing is Half The Battle!!!
