I think Donny Cates would write a very good BLADE series.
Robert Kirkman write Spawn …. it would be a neat treat
Donny Cates write a Sentry series
I’d love to see what Al Ewing would do with Swamp Thing
Jonathan Hickman on X-men, oh wait….
Subscribed!
Excellent question…
(2 Hours Later) Ok, so I think I’d like to have Geoff Johns back on Green Lantern. Doomsday Clock is showing he’s still got it, and Grant Morrison is so bad he’s making me cry. Its practically unintelligible gobbledygook.
Johns brought Hal Jordan back and he me buying into it. Never thought it was possible. Then he went off on one of the best runs in the history of the character. Right now its a mess, so I’d love to have him come back and clean it up!
I know, he’s already done it. So, its not like saying I’d like Stan Lee to write Superman or something, but he’s the best, and its always a great fit!
Warren Ellis on the Silver Surfer – I know Donny Cotes is doing a good job revamping things, but it would be cool to see what else could be played off and taken a bit darker.
Jeff Lemire do the Justice League….wait a minute….
Oops typo – meant Cates.
Just think it could be darker and more cerebral? suspenseful?
Donny Cates on Moon Knight is what I’ve been waiting for. Always loved that character and he needs a good writer like Donny to add a new spark for his revival.
Gotta go Jason Aaron writing Spiderman. Spiderman is not well written right now.
A great list so far…
My selection is for Scott Snyder to bring life back the story of Fabian Gray in Five Ghosts. I loved that book and would like to see it come back.
I’d love to see Joelle Jones take on a Death mini-series!
What made me collect comics when I was younger was Clarmonts run on X-Men. Would be nice to see him back on it!!!!!!
Definitely Cates on Moon Knight! Great character just waiting for his breakout moment!
My favorite author is Dean Koonts and I would love to see him turn his Frankenstein series in to a comic book. It would be AMAZING!
I’d live to see Frank Miller do a Wolverine story line.
I took this as an “any author ever” type question.
My first thought was how awesome it would be to have Edgar Allen Poe write a Batman series.
Frank Herbert in a series “stories of the planet Hala”…starting with the arrival of the Progenitors up through expansion/rebooting the origin of the Kree – Skrull conflict
It won’t happen, but would love to see Cates do Batman. There’s so much he could do with the material there.
Donny Cates on X-Men…a dark brutal take at that.
Neil Gaiman on Deadpool
Donny Cates on Amazing Spider-Man!!!
Ernest Cline…. writing his own original series for Image Comics.
I love Al Ewing’s horror run with Immortal Hulk and I love Jeff Lemire’s run with Gideon Falls. Two very different styles of horror but both so enticing. I would love to see Lemire write his own variation of Hulk!
Always wanted a Frank Miller GI Joe series. It would be perfect for the grim and gritty style. Plus how neat would a Daredevil/ Snakeyes crossover with the Hand and Arishakage. So many possibilities!
Todd McFarlane writing The Walking Dead…
Stephen King writes for Sandman.
Looking for good writing? Check out the series, Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children. Under appreciated series from the 90s.
Chuck Palahniuk wrting Moon Knight
Jason Aaron on green lantern turn it into a war story like during sinestro war
One of my favorite authors (who has now passed) Vince Flynn. A spy series with Black Widow or even use Cap as a spy (not so much as a hero).
Arthur Conan Doyle writing Sin City
What if… Stan Lee writes Batman?
I’d love to read Hickman take a stab at Justice League! He’s fantastic at huge, world-changing stories, and a team book like Justice League should have stories like that.
Donny Cates writing Scud the Disposable Assassin.
I would have Hunter S. Thompson write Preacher. And why not have Ralph Steadman do the art on an issue or two.
I would like to see Jim Starlin write Green Lantern. I think he does huge casts and space better than most.
I say Donny Cates writing Batman, I think what if did with Venom vol 4 with a new villain on the level as Knull. This would be a truly Dark Knight.
Frank Miller authoring a Short Circuit comic starring a no-holds-barred version of Johnny Five!
Scott Snyder and Jock doing Spider-Man Miles Morales.
I like Scott Snyder’s ability to write horror, so I’d go with Scott Snyder writing Tales from the Crpyt.
Stephen King writing Batman the killing joke. Or Batman Hush series.
I think Rick Remender on Spider-Man would be cool. He’s proven that he can do teen comics with Deadly Class and it would be cool to give it a darker tone. I also think having him write a more cosmic storyline for Spider-Man would be perfect given his experience with Science Fiction.
I enjoyed Frank Miller’s Elektra and Mike Grell’s Long Bow so I wouldn’t mind those being turned into long running series.
I know this might be a little far fetched but I would LOVE Donny Cates and Dan Brown to write a Batman series. Dan Brown is king of mystery and crime solving, while Cates is just gold. The fire from cates and the detective sleuthing from Brown would bring it right back to its roots!
