Dollar Bin Digging 37

Red Sonja/Claw #1 4

What could be better than a Jim Lee penciled and Gabrielle Dell ‘Otto painted cover? How about 4 of them? Pure awesomeness.

Keep an eye out for this set of 4 covers from 2006 when you are out there digging. For issues #1 and #2, these were the B covers so you may need to dig a bit. But then for issues #3 and #4 this killer combo had the A covers.

Not to be outdone, cover A of Issue #1 was still a pretty sweet Alex Ross cover. Then I believe Dell ‘Otto did issue #2A solo, Lee Bermejo had the honor of #3B, and no other version of issue 4.

Recent Sales Data:

Sets of 4 sell for around $10-$11, while individual issues are easily found for cover or less online. But why pay shipping when you can find it in a dollar bin? Just keep your eyes open.

Veronica #125

So in the spirit of last week’s Veronica entry into the Hot 10, how about a more recent entry that could be found in those dollar bins?

I know you see the box of Archie’s and you want no parts of it, but it could be worth flipping through. Just look for something that catches your eye.

Good Girl Covers, headlights, these are terms frequently used to describe popular covers in this genre. And you all know the unintentional comedy covers sell as well. This issue is a newer entry from 2002 but it has a few of the hallmarks of a popular cover.

Apart from the obvious Veronica GG headlight shot, you have those two bumping into each other’s…well you see it. And at first I thought the caption was coming from the Principal, so it played very differently in my head until I realized it was the nurse.

Recent Sales Data:

None sold recently, but if you are interested you can grab one from Mycomicshop for under $2.

Don't Feel Like Digging?

So until next time, while you are out there digging, remember…

“It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard… is what makes it great.” – Jimmy Dugan
