#CBSIBOLO List For NCBD 4/24/19
What Is The #CBSIBOLO List?
The Bolo List was created, initially, as an Instagram exclusive piece of content I dubbed comics cliff notes. A cheat sheet of sorts, the purpose of the Bolo list is to give CBSI Nation the most up to date information as LCS doors open on NCBD.
The Bolo list is not a list of books you should buy or books that will rise in value. It's simply a reporting of what we are seeing in social media response and chatter, talk within our community, initial ebay sales, as well as communication with retailers and posted online spoilers.
Similarly, every 1st appearance in a given week may not be covered. We only list first appearances that are confirmed first hand or by multiple reputable sources PRIOR to NCBD. No delentiation will be made for full vs. Cameo Appearance as it is for the market to decide and that can not be done until after the books have hit on release day.
The Bolo List is ⅓ of CBSI's NCBD attack with Simpleman's Weekly Picks and The Wednesday One. I am very happy to be bringing the Bolo List to ComicBookInvest.Com and all our readers. Be sure to follow us on IG (@comicbookinvestcbsi) for other Exclusive CBSI BOLO content.

WOMEN DOMINATE THE BACK ISSUE BIN
Noami #1 Cover B
A hot topic among collectors and speculators alike on IG has been: Why is the Naomi #1 Cover A 2x the value of Cover B. This seemingly bucks the DC Cover B trend. My best speculation on the matter is that a lot of the demand for this book comes from the vastitude of mainstream media articles written up on the character and books release. Bendis has made major news with this one. While it took several weeks after release to catch on, once it did, it was an explosion that saw Cover A take over as king over Cover B by a landslide. My hypothesis is that all of those mainstream media articles rather. Images of Cover A, and not Cover B.
This familiarized a newbie and novice crowd with Cover A but not Cover B. All articles about later printings also feature the Cover A artwork. Very few articles outside of speculation sites and initial solicitations included imaging of Cover B.
Also, I think in the case of introducing a new character, the trade dress on Cover A really helps to drive home whose book this is with Boami printed largely across the top of Cover A. The near Virgin Cover B may actually work against it, aiding it flying under the radar
Either way, this all provides an opportunity to buy Cover B at what could be an undervalued price. Copies are selling for $50-60. Thays about 50% of what Cover A is selling for. There may be meat left on the bone with these Cover B's.
Last week we talked about the MCU version of Valkyrie. One book we did not discuss is the Exiles #9 1:25 Razzah Variant. This one might have the most demand of any non 1st App of Tessa Thompson’s character. Razzah killed this one with a close up depicting Tessa Thompson riding her horse in full battle mode. BOLO for this one as it regularly sells for $50 or more.
This week sees the release of Valiant Entertainment's Punk Mambo #1. Punk Mambo is one of Valiants most popular cult characters and one of its newest seeing creation under the helm of Dinesh Shamdasani Valiant team in 2014. This character is Valiant's answer to the Harley Quinn craze to an extent. And the character is building a Harley like cult following.
Many are aware of Ben Templesmith’s 1:20 Shadowman #13 Incentive which is the 1st Appearance of Punk Mambo and has sold for $80-200 or the ghost Shane Davis 1:50 Variant which has just one listed copy in a 9.8 for $750 obo . But did you know that Shadowman #13 Cover A has dried completely up too??? There are currently zero copies listed. It begs the question : What would one command on the open market right now???
Another book to look out for is Shadowman #16 Cover B which features the first cover of Punk Mambo. This one can regularly hit $25-30.
Finally, Valiant released a Punk Mambo #0 One Shot in 2014. Cover B is a Rian Hughes Variant which features a, tough to get in gem mint, white cover. This one sells for $30 with some eBay sellers charging as much as $90 for mint copies. There is also a 1:20 Incentive variant as well.
So BOLO on Valiants hit character in those back issue bins. You never know what's been sitting waiting on you to liberate it from the long box!
Good Luck CBSI Wednesday Warriors!
