1 Naomi #1

WRITER: Brian Michael Bendis
ARTIST: Jamal Campbell
Rolling, rolling, rolling, Naomi is rolling….once again, it is up from last week and is now a $50-60 book raw.  With reorders, this one only had roughly a 30k print run, split between 2 covers.  That isn't many for a DC/Marvel property.  In my opinion, I actually think the ceiling for this one is even higher.

2 Marvel Tales Thanos #1 Jen Bartel 1:50 ‘Virgin' Variant

WRITER: Jim Starlin
ARTIST: Various
Similar to the Black Widow Marvel Tales a couple months ago, great cover, super low print run = big money.  Selling for $140-150.

3 Amber Blake #1 Catherine Nodet 1:10 Variant

WRITER: Jade Lagardere
ARTIST: Butch Guice
Piggy backing off of last weeks success, this one has more than doubled in price and is now basically a $100 book.  There are still very few copies available, even at that price point, which is an indicator of how hard this one is to actually find.

4 Carnage U.S.A. #1

WRITER: Zeb Wells
ARTIST: Clayton Crain
It has been mentioned that this mini-series will play a big role in the upcoming Absolute Carnage event.  That being said, the 2nd prints from this series are not easy to find if you are wanting to pick some up.  This was a $5-10 book and is now $20-30.

5 Young Avengers Presents #6

WRITER: Matt Fraction
ARTIST: Alan Davis
Not sure why Young Avengers #1 didn't see a spike after the Kate Bishop news with Disney+, but this one certainly did.  Raws moved from $20 up to $30-40 and now you cannot find a copy for less than $40.

6 Solar, Man of the Atom #3

BLAST FROM THE PAST ALERT!  Renewed interest in Toyo Harada apparently as 9.8 copies jumped from $150-175 up to $240 this week.

7 Silencer #15

WRITER: Dan Abnett
ARTIST: V Kenneth Marion
Most likely underordered (issue #14 only had an 8300 print run), coupled with a 1st appearance (Smoke) has computed to a $10-15.  Throw in the fact that most aren't even paying attention to this one at the moment and this book does have some potential.

8 Sabrina The Teenage Witch (Vol. 4) #1 Adam Hughes ‘Virgin' Variant /500

WRITER: Kelly Thompson
ARTIST: Veronica Fish
Pre-sales were hitting highs of $200 or more for this.  I am probably in the minority, but I think pre-sales should be taken off of eBay completely as there is no accountability for the sellers or buyers.  It is easier to try and manipulate the market as well since orders can be canceled so easily.  Anyway, this is still a nice seller in the $100-125 which is pretty good for a $20 buy-in price.

9 Thanos (Vol. 2) #15 4th Print

WRITER: Donny Cates
ARTIST: Geoff Shaw
Silver Surfer: Black coming?  Who knows, but people love them some Donny Cates.  Jumping from a $10 book to a $25-30 book quickly is definitely an indicator of how much people are on the DC bandwagon.

10 Captain Marvel (Vol. 11) #1 Artgerm Walmart Long Hair Variant

WRITER: Kelly Thompson
ARTIST: Carmen Nunez Carnero
Interestingly, this variant of a variant (known in the future here as an inception variant) isn't even part of the same series as its predecessor.  While individual copies are ‘only' selling for $10+, there are a ton of sales and soooo many people were running to their local Walmart to find this.  If you can make anyone go to Walmart on purpose, it has to be hot.

Incredible Hulks #620

WRITER: Greg Pak
ARTIST: Paul Pelletier
Topher brought this book up in his True Firsts article as the 1st Green Door.  Hey, if we are speculating on cats and haircuts, why not doors?  Anyway, this is a $20 book if you weren't aware.

The Unseen #14

WRITER: Various
ARTIST: Mike Peppe (cover)
WYet another incredible Golden Age cover.  The last graded sale that I could find was a 7.5 that sold in 2016 for $530.  An 8.0 sold this week at auction for $2900!  Guide for an 8.0 is $220–remember that I only mention guide prices for reference of how far some of these books have gone.

That Naomi is on fire! Putting my copy of the first print in for grading this week!

Interesting list. I wasn’t even following Solar, so that’s good to see.

If a book like TT12 with a “first” appearance of another Bat-derivative character can hit $100+ raw, Naomi could easily top that if DC stays behind it.

Also, by guide do you mean Overstreet? Again, how are they still a thing? It comes out once a year.

    Naomi again? Lol
Anyone think this can duplicate immortal hulk 2?
I sold a copy for $20 like a week or so ago now it’s $50. At this rate I’ll be $100 end of this month. Insane FOMO.

I don’t think Naomi is a FOMO book, truly a good book, plus low print run equal long term hold, but for some a quick flip. I can do to my lcs and find this comic, thou 3 has been sold out.

No shade! But the top 3 is like a copy & paste from last week, haha!
    #1 Naomi
    #2 ratio variant
    #3 Amber Blake

Naomi and Amber Blake are impressive. Would’ve been cool for them to be #1 and #2 respectively.

  • Peter Renna

    Inception variant. Love it. 👍

To answer the Young Avengers Presents 6 question. It is her first meeting with Clint Barton and more or less her first solo adventure… then there’s the whole missguided notion about it being where she’s given the mantle of Hawkeye, but that really happens in Young Avengers 12.

Any idea on the print run on Naomi 1 second print?

Very few listings that i see anyway.

Great job as always! The Marvel Tales cover variants are truly rare and are garnering a premium in the secondary market. The Black Widow variant only has sales of approximately $150 copies.

Yea I’m with you I hate these Pre-order sales and items on Ebay. Twice I got burned by a seller on a hot book saving they were shorted then later seeing that same seller have the book at a buy now at the going rate rather than the original price won. And when you complain to EBay they say this is allowed. Now I avoid pre-sale items on fee-bay.
