#CBSIBOLO List For NCBD 2/20/19

What Is The #CBSIBOLO List?

The Bolo List was created, initially, as an Instagram exclusive piece of content I dubbed comics cliff notes. A cheat sheet of sorts, the purpose of the Bolo list is to give CBSI Nation the most up to date information as LCS doors open on NCBD.

The Bolo list is not a list of books you should buy or books that will rise in value.  It's simply a reporting of what we are seeing in social media response and chatter, talk within our community, initial ebay sales, as well as communication with retailers and posted online spoilers.

Similarly,  every 1st appearance in a given week may not be covered. We only list first appearances that are confirmed first hand or by multiple reputable sources PRIOR to NCBD. No delentiation will be made for full vs. Cameo Appearance as it is for the market to decide and that can not be done until after the books have hit on release day.

The Bolo List is ⅓ of CBSI's NCBD attack with Simpleman's Weekly Picks and The Wednesday One. I am very happy to be bringing the Bolo List to ComicBookInvest.Com and all our readers. Be sure to follow us on IG (@comicbookinvestcbsi) for other Exclusive CBSI BOLO content.

Back Issue Bolo’s – 2/20/19

Venom #7 & #9 ( All Covers)

2nd printing #9 shown

With the events of Venom #11 taking place, a whole new meaning is placed on issues #7 and #9 from this current Donny Cates run. Copies began selling out everywhere after spoilers hit the net and cover price copies will soon be hard to find. Time will tell which book is the go to but my guess would be #9. Either way I would grab any remaining cover price copies of either issue in all covers you see at your LCS as you hit the shop for NCBD. Also BOLO for Venom #165 from the previous series. It too is seeing resulting spikes.

Duela Dent

#23 1st Print above

As seen on the cover of Nightwing #57 Cover A, Duela aka Joker’s Daughter returns to the DC Universe this week. Time will tell how lengthy a stay she has but with 2018 being dubbed the Year of the Villain by DC Comics chances are she could make her mark as she did just a few years back. I would be remiss if I did not add that CBSI member Mel V went hard to point out his belief in this book after our Live Stream with Deno from CBSI's Tales from the Flipside.

Avoid the gimmicky lenticular cover this time around and look for those dead spec Catwoman #23 1st and 2nd Prints from the New 52 featuring the 1st Appearance of this current version of Duela. Issue #24 with Duela on the cover is great to pair at auction with #23. If you're looking for the first appearance ever of any form of this character, look for Batman Family #6. All these books could see spikes if the Clown Princess gets her time to shine. One final Bolo, Hot Topic has a Bombshells Funko Pop Exclusive of Duela Dent that hasn't moved on the secondary market. It is currently on sale on line for just $7.50. It may be a good time to liberate this ladies from store shelves and hold them off the market to see what it bears.

Year of the Villain

Justice League Annual #1 above

Speaking of DC’s Year of the Villain , one look at the image advertising the event gives you the belief Perpetua is a big bad who may be here to stay. No reason to leave those Justice League Annual 1’s on the shelf at this point. May 1’s Year of the Villain 25 cent issue may push her 1st appearance into the spotlight enough for speculators to see real returns.

Die #1 from Image Comics

1st print Cover A above

Andy, from the Indie Spotlight Series right here on ComicBookInvest.Com, has been all over this book from day one. He recently posted on IG and CBSI’s G+ page about the sheer number of Die #1 copies flying off eBay. Some are hitting 2-3 times cover, some are just selling at cover. Either way the trend in demand is there and the reader buzz from the series is so strong that I had to include the 3rd printing on the Bolo List this week. So BOLO on all covers including the 2nd and 3rd PTGS of Die #1 from Image Comics.

Good Luck CBSI Wednesday Warriors!
