1 Avengers #47/48

WRITER: Roy Thomas
ARTIST: John Buscema / George TuskaRumors of Black Knight appearing in Avengers 4 has caused a flurry of sales for Dane Whitman's first appearance in #47 (and 1st appearance as the Black Knight in #48).  All time highs are being hit on both issues including a 9.4 sale for #48 of $1000–with the prior all time high being $285.  Wow.

2 Ghost Rider (Vol. 5) #1 Neal Adams 1:75 Variant

WRITER: Rob Williams
ARTIST: Matthew Clark
I featured this book on the Ghost Hunting article (I need to bring that back I think) way back in 2016.  Dale Horton mentioned it again this week about how it is still impossible to find.  A raw copy did sell on eBay for $350, which is well over the last sale that I can remember of around $200.

3 Knights of the Golden Sun #1

ARTIST: Mauricio Villarreal
This low printed indie was semi-hot when it came out, hitting $10 or so.  With the release of #2  this week (which it is hitting $15+), this first issue is now selling for $35-40.  No store around me ordered this one, good luck finding it.

Immortal Hulk is almost universally praised as an awesome storyline.  So where did Immortal Hulk start?  Here, sort of.  #682 actually has a full page spread of the character (later used on #682 2nd print), but there have been a lot of sales in the $10-15 range for this one.

5 Black Knight #3 Tim Bradstreet 1:25 Variant

Continuing on the Black Knight rush, those that can't afford his 1st Appearances above are hitting the variants, which are not in huge supply.  This one was basically a $5 book and is now $30.

6 WWE #24 Rahzzah 1:15 Variant

WRITER: Dennis Hopeless
ARTIST: Serg Acuna
Ahhh…George ‘The Animal' Steele.  One of my childhood favorites.  Back hair, eating turn buckles, zoo visits, all the makings of a great character.  Apparently others loved him too, since this awesome Rahzzah variant sells for $40 the week of release.

7 Power Girl #6 Guillem 1:10 Variant

WRITER: Jimmy Palmiotti
ARTIST: Amanda Conner
Power Girl is an odd character.  Very popular as cosplay and a  very strong female character.  This has not translated into very many other media appearances or many solo comics.  The supply of variants is small as well, most likely contributing to this book rising to $125 at the moment.

8 Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #8

WRITER: Roberto Aguirre Sacasa

I mentioned a while ago that these Chilling books were not that easy to find and to expect increases.  This regular cover of the final issue is now a $20-25 book.  I think Hack's style was made for this series.

9 Detective Comics #858 Adam Hughes 1:10 Variant

WRITER: Greg Rucka
This is back over a $40 again after having fallen to $15 or so a while ago.  A Batwoman pilot has been picked up so who knows if this will continue its upward trend.  Hughes was on top of his game during this era.

10 Aquaman #15 Josh Middleton Variant

WRITER: Dan Abnett
ARTIST: Philippe Briones
Geoff Johns wants a Black Manta movie.  Although his part was small in Aquaman, I thought Yahya Abdul-Mateen II played it great.  This is surpisingly a $10+ book right now.  I only say surprising because it is not a female based cover.  Middleton actually killed it on this one.

Amazing Spider-Man #667 Gabriele Dell'Otto 1:100 Variant

WRITER: Dan Slott
ARTIST: Humberto Ramos
Yes, Keith put this on his Variant Heat Check this week, but there is no way that a CGC 9.4 sale of $13,000 was going to go unnoticed here.  I still have yet to see this book in person–beware the ‘gold staple' fake.

Military Comics #1

WRITER: Will Eisner
ARTIST: Chuck Cuidera
Everyone needs an Eisner in their collection.  Very few of these come up for sale, but a CGC 4.0 just sold for $3k.  The last sale was last year for $3k, but that was for a CGC 6.5.
