It's been a while since we did a cosplay edition of this column. As we get closer to end of 2018, I wanted to take another stab at it. I also happened to find some interesting images of characters we haven't seen her very often, or at all.
First up is the Ravager/Rose Wilson cosplay. I was looking for images of Rose to feature, but the majority of fan art just wasn't up to snuff. Not to say that i didn't find any, because I did find a few… but you'll have to wait to see those.
This cosplay was the team effort of Megan Coffey and David Love Photography. It turned out pretty cool in my opinion. As we've talked about before in this column, good cosplay photography doesn't seem to find it's way to the big two very often… so it's nice to reward good cosplay images with the trade dressing and just pretend.
I'll be the first to admit it, Starfire in not a character that i'm interested in, hence why she's not appeared in this column before. One of the things I want to start doing is featuring characters that I know have a fan base, regardless of how I might feel about them. This Starfire cosplay is by Bec's Cosplay Wonderland, from Canada.
Last up this week is a Gwenon by Kelsey, aka JixnKittieCosplay from South Africa.
This one is a little odd, since the design for it is based on an image created by Jamie Tyndall, and is not the same as the one used in the Spider-Gwen comic series. Tyndall's design is just so much better than the comic version in my opinion.
It really seems to lends itself to cosplay and the cosplay culture. I've seen more than a few variations on this cosplay in the last year… I've seen zero of the official Marvel version by the way. I'm sure they're out there, but this is the version I see all the time…. any i have yet to see a bad one, they all look spot on and identical to the art print. There's probably not too many cosplay's out there you can say that about.
Well, that's all for this week, see you all next Monday for the special anniversary Week 52 Edition!
