Dollar Bin Digging 08

The Fury of Firestorm #19

Old school CW spec with the first appearance of the Caitlin Snow version of Killer Frost. I must’ve found at least a half dozen of these in dollar bins.

Sure I’ve also found the original Killer Frost 1st appearance from Firestorm #3 in long boxes, but that comic is a bit trickier to find. Your chances are much better in finding this New 52 book in dealer overstock boxes. This book generated some heat back when Danielle Panabaker first iced up on The Flash, but it’s cooled down considerably since then. It may see a resurgence if the character finds herself on the big screen.

Don't Feel Like Digging?

Fury of Firestorm #23

Staying with the CW and with Firestorm, issue #23 of The Fury of Firestorm published back in 1984 featured the first appearance of Felicity Smoak. Granted her character in the comics is not much like her CW counterpart; but for those who like TV spec, this is the book to get for Felicity.

Once again, this is a book that had its day in the sun. And it’s for that reason that you may now find one while digging in the long boxes. No one is looking for this book anymore, which is why you should keep your eyes open. File this cover in your metal rolodex and just try and recognize it as you flip through the stacks.

Recent High Sales Data:

CGC 9.8 – $79.99 on 10/10/18
Raw – $23.49 on 10/7/18

Is “The Comic Reader” #155 cover dated April 1978 (where the 1st issue, Firestorm #1 is cover dated March 1978, so this isn’t considered a preview First Appearance more so than just an early editorial appearance) worthwhile as an investment?
