New Surprise Kirkman Comic!?!?!

Huge thanks to Jack Demayo and his #CBSIBOLO  on IG.

Breaking news coming from our friends in the UK (Forbidden Planet and The Big Bang).

Stores are putting word out that Robert Kirkman and Skybound Entertainment are dropping a Netflix Esque (or Beyonce if that’s your pop culture reference of choice) series out of nowhere.

Not much is known at this time about how dealers will be handling the orders through diamond, but those wanting to secure copies for the 7/11/18 release date are encouraged to do so now.

The series, titled Die! Die! Die! Features an extremely bloody cover, dark humor, and a Hillary Clinton Presidency. This book sounds like a wild ride and as is the case with most stunts or gimmicks, the most successful attempt is usually the first.

Be on the lookout! This one may just be a heater. The unknown is what’s exciting.

  • UPDATE: As per Bleeding Cool and confirmed by a US retailer, stores will receive orders to match Oblivion Song #1 orders. This should give you a better idea as to your LCS’s stock.

    • Yeah, some stores got 50 and up copies. The market will be flooded

      • Yes, but if it’s good (which who knows) cheap and free copies will dry up. Just wont be a quick flip. Long term or not at all. Sets of 10 are getting $50-60 on Ebay. Also another detail we learned is that the print run is based on initial O.S #1 orders not FOC orders. So expect 60-70 k would be a good guess.

  • UPDATE #2: We are now getting reports of THANK YOU variants featuring varying quotes and jokes.

  • UPDATE #3: Wow this news is big……as per Sad Lemon Comics in the UK, there appear to be 10 different covers with varying sayings in the thought bubbles. Also there will be a 1 per store foil Thank You variant released next week. Check with your LCS now for that one!

  • I see the I’m drunk and Mission accomplished variant so far. Any US sellers selling these online?

    • It wont be until they receive their shipments from Diamond today that they I imagine stores will start posting for sale. The UK is a step ahead of us on this one but that gives us extra time to judge market demand. Or less time depending on how you look at it haha.

  • UPDATE 4: As per longtime CBSI Member Drew Lujan of Wanted Comix has confirmed 10 different covers.

  • UPDATE 5 : According to retailer sources, the print run will match Oblivion Songs original order number not its Foc number. This should lower below the 80k expected print run but by how much I’m not sure.

Even if an LCS received 50 copies with 10 different covers (variants) that’s only five copies of cover A, cover B, cover C, ect.
Also, I can see an LCS getting a bunch of covers A – C, but what about covers like G – J….how many of those covers will the LCS receive!!?!

**If the only difference in the variants are the sayings in the word bubbles will people even care enough to get variants?
