1 Here's Negan /500(ish)

WRITER: Robert Kirkman
ARTIST: Charlie Adlard
After the dust has settled with all the Image Blind Box noise about how many copies are actually out there, this has been selling raw around $350-400.  It's not the greatest cover IMO, but after the initial flood, these will make their way into Walking Dead personal collections.  What the price will do after that, who knows?

2 Wonder Woman (Vol. 5) #26 Convention Foil Photo Variant

WRITER: Shea Fontana
ARTIST: Mirka Andolfo
It's the week after SDCC so there will be many exclusives this week.  Why is this hot?  It's Gal Gadot, right there on the cover, duh.  $15 buy in, now selling for $50+.  Her pose looks a little static to me, though.

3 Doctor Aphra #3 Juan Gimenez Variant

WRITER: Kieron Gillen
ARTIST: Kev Walker
Holding its spot at #3, this is now selling $50-60.  This looks to have some long term legs as it is likely that this went under the radar on orders as it was the first of the Star Wars 40 variants.

4 New Avengers (Vol. 3) #8

WRITER: Jonathan Hickman
ARTIST: Mike Deodato
The 1st appearance of Thanos' Black Order went unnoticed for a long time, but then Chris Schultz brought it out into the open a while back on g+.  Now selling for $25-30, you may still be able to locate it in the back issue bins at your LCS.

5 Batman (Vol. 3) #24 Convention Foil Variant

WRITER: Tom King
ARTIST: David Finch
With the regular issue still bringing about $10, it's not a surprise that this foil variant was a hit at SDCC.  Selling just slightly below the WW variant above at the moment.

6 Lady Death: Revelations #1 SDCC Ceci De La Cruz Spawn Variant /150

ARTIST: Various
Well, Spawn is hot, the 90's are hot, bad girl comics were  hot in the 90's.  Let's mash them together and see what happens.  $15 at cost, limited to 150 and now they are selling for $75+ and I can't find a single copy for sale at the moment.

7 Rick & Morty #16 SDCC Variant

WRITER: Kyle Starks
Ok, so #1 variants are moving out of range for a lot of people so they might be moving to harder to find, cool looking variants.  This one, from the 2016 SDCC, is awesome looking…and not easy to find.  Was selling for around $50 a few weeks ago and now it is a $100 book.  As Tim Walker put it, ‘Rick & Morty mania is REAL'.

8 Ultimate Fallout #4 Marko Djurdjevic 1:25 Variant

WRITER: Brian Michael Bendis
ARTIST: Sara Pichelli
Whoa, $1275 for a 9.8?  Insane.  The regular issue is movie briskly at $230-250 as well.  Don't shoot the messenger, I just report on what's going on–we will see if this holds in the next 12 months.

Lady Mechanika: Clockwork Assassin #1 SDCC Variant /250

WRITER: Joe Benitez
ARTIST: Joe Benitez
Limited to 250 is nice, $10 buy in is even nicer and a selling price of $50+ is nicest of all.  As an aside, the Yesteryear variant that was on the list before is still selling well too.

10 Venom: Sinner Takes All #3

WRITER: Larry Hama
ARTIST: Greg Luzniak
Well, there has been no drop off the past couple of weeks, which is a little surprising to be honest.  Still holding in the $50-60 range, but that is most likely the peak for this book I would think.

Amazing Spider-Man #648 J. Scott Campbell 1:100 Variant

WRITER: Dan Slott
ARTIST: Humberto Ramos
Seemingly much harder to find than the B/W counterpart with the same incentive ratio, a raw copy sold this week for $550+.  I must admit that the color is way better than the B/W in this case.

Vampirella #1

WRITER: Forrest J Ackerman
ARTIST: Various
Normally I leave this spot for a Golden Age beauty, but I couldn't ignore the recent $2000+ sale on a CGC 9.2 copy.  I'm not sure if there is a new breed that is reviving interest or if there are more eyes because of Jenny Frison and Lucio Parrillo.

OK Ben. I will keep my mouth shut about Ultimate Fallout #4 Variant. DANG! That Vampirella #1 sell seems high for a 9.2. I would expect that price for maybe a 9.6 or 9.8. I do like the first volume of Vampirella and have several issues in my PC.
What happened to Classic Covers of the Week post? I haven’t seen one in a while.

I can’t say if the list is based on single sales or not, but I think the list is intended for new heat, or big jumps. But I have not been following prices on the ASM 678 variant, has been hot for a minute or two.

Ref ASM 648 and Campbell Variants in General .. been a fan of JSC since DangerGirl and been collecting his books for years…. i have said it before and ill say it again…. his colors always out perform lesser number variants. I have fallen it to the trap a couple of times of buying 1:100 black & Whites only to see them stagnate in value, why their 1:50 color counterpart soar .

Moff agree, they have started to replace b&w sketches with virgin variants which is a great ideal because the b&w has lost its appeal, not sure why they keep trying to make b&w variants happen…. they aren’t going to happen.

Don’t sleep on New Avengers #’s really the 1st full app. of Black Order . No Cgc
    notation on this yet though.(Or # 8….)

Until there is more than one sale of the Ultimate Fallout #4 variant anywhere near that price, I would have to say that $1275 is an outlier. Especially since a high grade raw copy didn’t even one-bid for $300 on ebay last night, just a few weeks after they were supposedly selling for $600+ raw.
