  • Happy to have four of these. Spawn Thx, God Country 1, Batman 24, and Redneck 1! No attachment to any of them, any takers? Haha

  • Alondo

Great list. I have to concur with most of your picks here.

  • Doctor Aphra #3 Juan Giminez 40th Anniversary 1/48 should be up there with the Poe Dameron. Has been selling for slightly higher and slightly harder to find. Only one up on the bay right now for over $150. Good list though. I have 8 out of 10.

  • @tmas27

I totally agree with you bud!

That Dr. Aphra #3 is harder to come by than the PD #10 and more expensive as well.

I believe however the Poe issue is not a 1:48 as the Aphra.

Maybe that’s why he listed the Poe Dameron because there are a lot mre sales of that issue than the Dr. A #3

    Good list though!

I had all of these at one time but sold most of them.

    • OhBehave, the Aphra is #1 of 48 in the subset. PD is #2 of 48, or 2/48.

On the subject of more sales you are correct. But that could be attributed to the Aphra being more rare and if the list is based on hotness equating in number of sales then it would make sense. Though the rareness of Aphra and the fact it is the first book of the set, not to mention a cool Darth Vader scene, will probably make it worth more than the PD. And what’s odd about that is PD has a print run about 10K less than Aphra so you would think it would have been harder to find. It is starting to dry up also and the big thing is no one knows the print run of these percentage variants.

At first I think the recent death of Carrie Fisher and the popularity of Princess Leia was driving the value of that book. But now I think the early books in the set are becoming harder to find especially for those trying to go back and complete the set.

  • I love this list!

  • the list is ok….i would have changed a few covers….” based on rareity”

  • That’s just it!! The hottest in this title means number if sales not rarity.

Lots of sales makes a book hot. This list shows off the comics that showed lots of movement since the new year!

That’s what I perceived from this list anyways.

Nice list, great work. Dang, I guess I should’ve held on to those PD 10. Sold 4 of them for $25 each back in Apr/May.

  • I’m not sure what the meaning behind “hottest” is. Are you going by rarity, sales prices, momentum, etc.? Some of the books like God Country are no longer hot at all. It’s lost all momentum once ppl found out it was a mini series and the sales prices have dropped.

Overall, it’s a nice list. creating some rules to this list would’ve been more beneficial as to the credibility of the list. There are some comics that u didn’t include on here that are deserving such as the Monsters Unleashed 1:100 variants (not issue #1) that are HTF and sell for good value.

I would say the Monsters Unleashed books are nice, but didn’t generate that much buzz relative to these books. God Country has dropped a lot but it made a lot of noise when it came out.

      • God Country was definitely hot but the fact that it has completely cooled off should not make it worthy of this list. Yes, it stayed hot for months but that’s the same concept as when new books stay hot for a few weeks then cool off. If ppl knew from the beginning that it was going to be a mini series then it wouldn’t have been hot to begin with.

I wish I could give a better example than Monsters Unleashed but I’m buying mostly digital now and I’ve stopped tracking the market on recent books. Lol.

Have to agree to disagree then. The list is of books so far this year and few books have generated as much interest as God Country, which is what I think this list is focusing on. Every book will dip, some more drastically than others but it’s not many that will make as much noise as God Country. I don’t totally agree with the list tbh b/c like you said, it’s not clearly defined what the parameters are. Reborn falls into the same category as God Country, whereas Batman 24 didn’t really generate very high prices overall. Just my opinion though.
