Invincible #135 April Fools Variant: Diamond’s explanation

Don’t think anybody was losing any sleep over this, but M&M Comics were nice enough to forward us the info and here it is, straight from the Diamond email:

Due to a production error, your order for Image Comics’ Invincible #135 Cover B April Fools Variant (JAN178688) — featuring a color cover, shown above, and in stores this week — was inadvertently filled with the Black & White 2017 Diamond Retailer Summit Edition of that cover. You are free to sell the black & white Summit variants you received to your customers. Please note that additional copies of the Summit variant are no longer available.

Image will provide you with free replacement copies & freight credit based on your FOC orders for JAN178688 for May 10 on sale under Diamond item code MAR178052. Additional copies featuring the color cover for reorders will not be available.

So, the B&W cover was sent instead of the color cover to all retailers who ordered the color version, the color version will be coming out in a couple of weeks. It’s cool when things are clearer, right?
