The ‘Banana Splits Were Furries All Along’ One

wednesday

Considering this is week 5 of the month, we could be doing a lot worse. Hanna-Barbera meets DCU, more Venomized covers, Bisley back on Lobo, lots of quality from Image (nothing on this article, though), … Not too bad!

DKIII getting to the finish line

I have been mentioning the Frank Miller 1:100 and Jim Lee 1:500 variants since the series started, because it's always nice to see some art that is not so easy to get your hands on. This issue they are joined by Bill Sienkiewicz's 1:50 because it's pretty awesome and Sienkie's on fire lately. Another thing it has going for it is that it's not part of a set like the other two.

Harley's Little Black Book #6 Simon Bisley 1:25 Variant

One of those love or hate propositions … I am certainly not in a hurry to read Conner and Palmiotti's Lobo, but it's Bisley back on the Main Man. I will get this cover if I find it. If not, I will survive.

Cosmic Scoundrels #2

First issue did OK, was it just spec or are people behind this? The issue number two curse (retailers cutting order numbers from issue #1's dramatically) should throw a bit of light on the whole thing. I am liking it so far.

Inhumans Prime

ResurrXion is here! Whatever that means … Haven't kept up with Marvel events lately but I am guessing they are relaunching the Inhumans and the X-Men brands after the crossover. Jonboy Meyers cover, Al Ewing script, Ryan Sook interiors and a prologue to Al Ewing and Jonboy Meyers' The Royals? I want to know more, please.

Hatchet #0 R-Rated Cover

I would assume this is going to come out in tiny amounts. Now, I have no idea who might be interested in this. Didn't like the movies at all, but what do I know. I bought the whole Wolfcop mini …

Venomized Variants of the Week

Unless there's any late comics, these should be the last ones. Really liking that Occupy Avengers!!! Next stop: Mary Jane variants!?

Swipe of the week

Ghost Rider takes center stage because it's his title after all, but as New Fantastic Four fan for life, I can only give this cover a thumbs up. By the time you reach the end of the sentence you will start wondering whether the totally awesome Hulk is actually wearing pants or going commando. (Fingersnap!)

Ben Caldwell Is Awesome

Nothing new under the sun, but Caldwell has two covers coming out today and they are both awesome.

In fact he's doing he's doing the interiors for the Suicide Squad / Banana Splits crossover, and that's the only reason to try to read it. I mean, does anybody care if Snagglepuss comes out of the closet in a backup story no one's going to care about in five minutes? I am getting this anyway, but it's going directly into my crossover collection. Don't know if you checked the preview, but looks like they're just taking the Splits and putting them in the middle of a Suicide Squad comic. I was expecting something a bit more middle groundy, but this panel talks volumes:

Welcome to the DCU, hope you survive the experience!!!

That's it for this week. What would you buy? There can be only one!
