Variant Heat Check for 1/10/17

Gwenpool Holiday Special: Merry Mix-up #1 1:100 Zdarsky Variant

HEAT CHECK STATUS: pepperpepperpepperpepper

Did anyone honestly think Gwenpool would still be around a year later? It’s crazy, almost as crazy as this book hitting $200. But it happened, and she is still around.

Hulk #7 1:25 Marquez Deadpool Photobomb Variant

HEAT CHECK STATUS: pepperpepperpepperpepper

I’m not sure what else to say about this book, but everytime I look it’s hitting $200. Raw copies have all about dried up for this classic swipe.

Avengers Assemble #13 1:50 Lee Variant

HEAT CHECK STATUS: pepperpepperpepper

Jason S. mentioned this book back in June 2015 and it has become a ghost. I know one sale doesn’t make a book hot, but $150 sales happen when there is only one out there!

Wolverine Weapon X #1 Hero Initiative Blank

Bonus book!

Not gonna lie, I didn’t even know this existed.

Note: Variants appearing in the Top 10 will not appear on this list due to contractual obligations.

Wow, while I LOVE these articles, this particular batch is very under-whelming. I’d have thought there’d be more of a skew towards something with Carrie Fisher’s hair-bun royalty, or that Saga misprint that folks said places were shooting with cannons, or maybe one of those Seven to Eternity prints folks like the most and seem to keep track of how many of what print is printed sort of mumbly jumbo. BUT! Then again, this is why I’m on this side of the articles hehehe. Again though, I love these overviews of what folks like, so keep it up! As we all enjoy the bajeebers out of the look from the pros. 🙂

I think that is the first 1:100 Gwenpool variant. ?

With a $5.99 cover price, that Gwenpool holiday special was most likely heavily under ordered. $200-300 should be what it sticks to as long as she stays relevant

That hulk 7 swipe sure to a LONG time to heat up. I had 12 and slowly sold all of them , it took 18 months to sell 12 copies in the 50-100 range. Shoulda put those in the ” hold” box!

    Nice job Keith.

Looking back at Jason S’ article in 2015, the comments were basically, ‘why would you waste your time with this book’.

Rarity matters. Sometimes no one cares, but if a few people start to care about rare books, they can skyrocket in value.
