SpongeBob Comics #43 – January 2015

333546_20150411212107_largeIt's Friday ladies and Gentlemen! So it can only mean one thing! It's time for another episode of Covers from the Unknown! This week I bring you a homage to a classic character, from a character you would not expect! I present to you SpongeBob Comics #43, from January 2015. Amazing cover by Bill Sienkiewicz! As you can see, you have SpongeBob, paying homage to Wolverine! Definitely one of the lesser known comic cover swaps! If only he had a reflection of Patrick in the spatula, you would have a homage to Hulk #340!

The next question…..is SpongeBob Comics really worth getting? Well take a look at the first few issues of the series. Believe it or not, they are going for decent money. The only reason I know is that my daughter reads this comic, and she has the whole set so far. Another reason you may want to take a look at some of these comics, is the simple reason they are all very low print runs. #43 comes in at about 5,000. The few on ebay and amazon are all around $5-$10. If you are a Wolverine fan, or a fan of cool covers, go grab one. Happy Hunting Fellas!

I hope this comic details Patrick’s story about the ugly barnacle that was so ugly everyone died…the end. Bit of a spoiler I know, but everyone and their sponge knew the ending of that Titanic movie and look at how well THAT did.

Nice! This is my kinda stuff – I buy all the “kids” books and have every Spongebob from issue 1. Lots of these types of books are getting pricey with back issues; Scooby-Doo, etc.
