Red Hood: The Lost Days #1 1:25 Variant

Red Hood Lost Days #1 1:25 Mattina Variant

HEAT CHECK STATUS: radioactive

This book is a beast, no doubt about it. ‘Nuff said.

Uncanny Inhumans #11

Uncanny Inhumans #11 1:25 Putri variant

HEAT CHECK STATUS: pepperpepperpepperpepper

This book is still selling for over $100 almost a full week after its release. I guess we’ll see where Marvel takes Mosaic before we can truly estimate a future for this book.

Ultimate Fallout #4 1:25 Djurdjevic variant

HEAT CHECK STATUS: pepperpepperpepperpepper

The rumors that this book is part of the five below curse didn’t stop it from charging up the charts this week. Oh, and I guess people really wanting Miles to show up in the new Spidey film never hurt either.

Red She Hulk #58 Greg Horn Variant

This week’s variants are pretty weak, but what’s not weak is this Red She Hulk #58 variant by Greg Horn!

Note: Variants appearing in the Top 10 will not appear on this list due to contractual obligations.

What is this ‘curse’ you referred to?

5Below is a discount store chain (think dollar store) that sells multipacks of Marvel comics). The UF4 variant has shown up in these packs and this typically depresses the market on the same variant as the there are more copies available.

Mattina deserves his due. And Greg Horn makes the list? Never saw that one coming

WOW! You can still find UF#4 Variants? Does that mean they are continuing to make them for packs to be sold at 5Below? Otherwise, why would a variant that old be showing up? Also, are they legit? or store stamped? or reprinted?

    Great stuff as usual!

These are the dangers of 1: variants … responding about the Ultimate fallout 4. The market stabilizes after the stores sell their copies. All unearned copies have to go somewhere. Most of them end up in the large players hands, a few of the largest comic buyers from diamond who slow sell these extra copies, keeping the value up. in a few rare cases like five below the entire ” dead stock” gets dumped on the market at once, destroying value.

Understand that any variant can have this happen. Your $1,000 book you bought last week can turn into 500, or even 100 over a weekend.

It’s amazing sometimes how you end up with something you really don’t expect to own or even know what it really is…so I picked a couple of these 4 packs last week, mainly because I wanted some Secret Wars books I didn’t have that were showing on top(Weird World and E for Extinction). When I ripped the second bag open and saw the UF 4 variant I just assumed it was yet another issue I’d give a read to on some random occasion (train, pool, road trip, whatever)…so after reading it today I kinda liked it and did some research. Learned that it was indeed the first Miles Morales. Figured it probably could be worth at least a dollar or two more than retail…when I saw what these are going for even ungraded I was glad this one didn’t make the by-the-pool bag.
