The Actually Not that Bad One
Some pretty decent stuff, some bets that could pay off, … it's just another week in the world of comics!!!
End of an era! This is the last issue by Snyder and Capullo and even though Snyder will still be working on Batman, the question in every fan's mind is “Will it ever be this good?”
Amazing Sienkiewicz cover, worth the price of the comic alone.
|4 Kids Walk into a Bank #1
Black Mask's triumphant return, or so would the different reviews make you think. Black Mask was last year's success story and then they ran into some problems. I think we all agree that we need more exciting comics as Black Mask was delivering, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
|Harley Quinn #27
Keith mentioned the variant yesterday, but with Red Tool appearing in this cover, this might be a good one to have. Of course, expect Carlie Hween to appear in Deadpool in a couple of months … I am crossing my fingers for an unofficial crossover.
|International Iron Man #2 Kamome Shirahama Variant
I know, I know … Every time there's a new Shirahama cover I seem to automatically add it to this section … What can I say? I really like the art plus it's kind of a quiet week.
|Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #7 Siya Oum Variant
Siya Oum has been doing some portrait type of covers as Phantom Variants. I am guessing someone at Marvel must have liked them since they are seemingly getting upgraded to official variants. Will this make the previous ones hotter?
Content-wise, this is a Choose Your Own Adventure type of story, making it an absolutely required purchase.
|Sabretooth Dan #1
With Henchgirl getting some well-deserved attention lately, you might want to start checking out what Scout Comics are putting out there. This week, a new #1 with some fun looking art.
|Darkwing Duck #1
Disney characters are all over the place these days, so if you're a Darkwing Duck fan, make sure you remember to check this one out.
|DKIII: The Master Race #4 Jim Lee Variant
As the print run gets smaller, expect the 1:100 and 1:500 variants to get rarer. There are people who will want the full set of one of those (I am personally getting the Miller set) so watch prices of the last few issues rise.
|Micronauts #1 Michael Golden 1:100 Variant
It's nice to see IDW using past series artists like Jackson Guice and Michael Golden for the covers. I honestly don't see this heating up too much, but it might see some action the first few days.
That's it for this week. What would you buy? There can be only one!
