JSA Key Issues

notimelikethepastAlright, so with the Justice Society of America there is just so much going on. We can look at the original team, we can look at the many incarnations of the team or we can look at the current roster of the team, while making sure to highlight some other relevant books as we go. I have chosen to do the latter.

Original JSA

The JSA is important on so many levels. Most importantly it is the first comic team up of superheroes, which at the time was an unheard of idea. The original roster was :

  • The Atom
  • Doctor Fate
  • The Flash
  • Green Lantern
  • Hawkman
  • Hourman
  • Sandman
  • The Spectre

With Batman and Superman being honorary members and some characters later joining up like Johnny Thunder, Mr Terrific, Wildcat, Wonder Woman, Black Canary and Hawkgirl.

To make matters more confusing, DC went and retconned that Batman and Supes were never part of the team, Queen Hippolyta was Wonder Woman at that time and that Miss America was part of the team…

So where does that leave us in terms of Key issues relevant to the Golden Age? On the most basic level it leaves us with these relevant issues:
