Fringe: Tales from the Fringe #3 Variant October 2010
Happy Friday Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome back to Covers from the Unknown! This week I am giving you something special! Something that you will want to run out and buy as soon as you get done reading this! I present to you Fringe: Tales from the Fringe #3, the 1:10 variant cover, from DC/Wildstorm. Look familiar? This would be one of the few Dark Knight parodies that stayed true to the Dark Knight, and just switched in Superman. This series was based on the hit show, “Fringe”, which wasn't all that bad. Unfortunately the comic had nothing to do with Superman, the Man of Steel Returns, and they only put him on the cover. All the variants for this series were parodies of some very iconic comics in our time. When you are looking to buy #3, also do a search for #2…..that is also a treat.
Good luck finding any of these fellas. All six issues of the series had a print run of under 6,500….SO, what does that mean? It means that there are less than 650 of each of these variants. In a few cases, there are about 500 of them out there. For this issue in particular, as I am writing this, I count a grand total of 4 on the ‘bay and ‘zon. Very low print run + Superman/Batman movie hype + Dark Knight Returns parody = Go get one now! Best of luck to you all, and Happy Hunting Fellas!
