Batman Annual #25 2nd Print – May 2006
Welcome back to Covers from the Unknown!
So, I am beginning to think that Jason Todd is slowly becoming the next Quinn, Deadpool, Wolverine type character. Don’t judge me just yet….please hear me out. What do all the characters I just mentioned have in common? Psycho, killer, mentally insane and all around bad-a$$es. What is Jason Todd? Psycho, killer, mentally insane and all around bad-a$$. What else do all those characters have in common? At first, when everyone wanted more of them, they would only be sporadically in comics, but now mainstream. Mr Todd is following that same formula. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, but go get some Jason Todd comics now, his time is coming.
Sorry for that little rant, but it’s over now, and I give you the Cover from the Unknown for the week! It is Batman Annual #25, the 2nd print! Very cool cover from Shane Davis (who I am a big fan of) and produced in May 2006. Just an FYI, the 1st print cover is not too bad at all also! It’s a Batman and Robin cover by some guy named Jock. This is actually a great comic that explains how Jason came back from the dead. So with all the hoopla of the Batman #635-638 storyline, you really need this comic to explain how he got there. Put them all together and you have a great read.
The print run for this comic is just about 14,000. Its not a lot, but its not a little either. The 1st print had a run of 65,000. Seems like a lot but believe me, both of these are hard to find in the wild. Not sure why, but they are. First prints are slowly starting to disappear off of the bay, at around $15. As for the 2nd prints?? Very few of them, and in the upper $20’s to $30’s. If you grab one or two, eventually you will be happy you did. Trust me. The age of Todd is coming.
Happy Hunting fellas!
