New Week, New Covers!!

 HAUNTED THRILLS #10

HAUNTED THRILLS #10

(Ajax-Farrell)

This is one of my new favorite covers of all time.  The picture does not do it justice.  Looks a hundred times better in person, even in low grade.  As with a lot of smaller press comics from the early 1950s, not a lot is known about the artist though it is thought to be the work of Iger Shop on the cover.  This is not a terribly common or rare issue.  Some low grade copies are floating around on ebay, most under 100.00 which seems like a bargain to me.

1 single copy on the census and it is a 9.0…  Not sure they there are not some VGs floating around the census, but perhaps there will be one in the Fine range hitting soon. (I actually picked up a respectable copy the other day)

SHELF DATE of July 1953

 PUNCH COMICS #9

PUNCH COMICS #9

(Harry A Chesler/Dynamic)

One of the coolest covers in comics, or at least for fans of pre code Golden Age goodness.  Gus Ricca cover.  Not much more to be said here…

0 slabbed copies on the CGC census, though PGX has slabbed at least one copy at a 1.8.

SHELF DATE of July 1954

As always, thanks for looking, folks!
