BATMAN ADVENTURES #12

BATMAN ADVENTURES #12

1st Appearance Harley Quinn

Alright, I know this is not really a “Vintage” book, but the sales on this book compared to that of 4 months ago are absolutely shocking. 9.2-9.8 slabs have doubled to tripled and appear to still be on the rise. Chances are this is not coming back down to earth anytime soon. If you are lucky enough to find a newsstand copy you are in even better shape.

FOUR COLOR #878

FOUR COLOR #878

Peanuts #1

With the trailer officially out for the Peanuts movie releasing in October, interest has spread from the already large fan base of Peanuts collectors over to more folks in our hobby.  With the no number from 1953 already impossible to find and the various Tip Top Comics with full covers or early appearances far out of the reach of most, FC 878 is looking like the go to book.  While prices have been rising slowly on this book for the last few months, you can rest assured they will continue to climb as more and more folks try to get their Snoopy fix.

3

STRANGE TALES #111

STRANGE TALES #111

1st Appearance Baron Mordo

Chiwetel Ejiofor has been officially cast as Baron Mordo bringing this comic to a lot of speculators attention.  While I am not usually a huge fan of second appearance books, this has a lot going for it.  ST 110 is already out of the reach of most collectors as investors and deep pocket collectors scoop them all up, issue 111 might be a safe grab if you can find them at or at least near guide pricing.

CALIBER PRESENTS #1

CALIBER PRESENTS #1

1st Appearance THE CROW

Jack Huston leaving this movie seems to have had no effect on the price of this book.  If anything, it's just getting more attention as people are reminded that while in pre-production, it is still getting made.

MARVEL PREMIERE #38

MARVEL PREMIERE #38

1st Appearance Weird World

Marvel involving Weird World for a Secret Wars tie in coupled with multiple site and blog posts about it maybe impacting the future of the MCU has led to a feeding frenzy online.  Almost all affordable in grade copies have been bought up from ebay and other sites.  Not sure what the future hold for this title, but for the time being it seems like a safe scoop if you can grab a nice copy out of your LCS's bargain bins.

Thanks to Mark Hendrie over on the G+ pages for the heads up on this one!

STAR WARS #42

STAR WARS #42

1st Appearance Boba Fett in Comics

Still a lot of heat on this book.  While folks might argue that this is not the actual 1st appearance, the market does not seem to care.  Prices are steadily on the rise and should continue to do so right up until the solo movie is released.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN #8

CAPTAIN BRITAIN #8

1st Appearance Betsy Braddock (Psylocke)

Everyone might be out there searching for New Mutants Annual #2 right now.  The reason is most can not afford Psylocke's first appearance in the UK comic mag.  Folks who can afford this somewhat obscure title are pushing the prices up and chances are, will continue to do so.
