Runaways, Wonder Woman, Deadpool & Boom!

wednesday

One book to rule the week

If you could only choose one comic book to buy from all the new comics being released this Wednesday, what would it be?

We ask the staff here at ComicBookInvest.Com the same question and their answers are sometimes surprising. Made up of a wide range of comic book speculators, enthusiasts, and ne’er-do-wells, the staff prides itself on being able to identify the worthy from the unworthy each Wednesday.

Here's what they had to say this week:

Runaways #1 Noto Variant

Runaways #1 Noto Variant

Mark H: Runaways #1, Noto variant that's a cover swipe of the original series, small first app with some rebooted characters in there AND a teenage superhero story by Lumberjanes' Noelle Stevenson. That's a lot of things going for one issue!

Stephen M: Like Mark, Runaways #1 Phil Noto variant looks good. Decent potential for flipping.

Brandon G: I am really hoping for the Noto Runaways as well. I think my lcs will get it it's just a matter of getting them to sell it to me for under 30 bucks.

Wonder Woman #41

Wonder Woman #41

Mark H: Wonder Woman #41 runner up with the new outfit.

Stephen M: For PC, Wonder Woman #41, New outfit, and possibly a new villain being introduced.

Wonder Woman #41 Bolland Joker Variant

Wonder Woman #41 Bolland Joker Variant

Khoi P: Wonder Woman #41 Joker Variant – Wonder Woman has been on a tear with outstanding covers and with Brian Bolland being, IMO, the iconic Joker artist, it's a no brainer. The Joker variants have been meh so far, so this definitely stands out to me. This probably will not cause a big spec movement, but it will be perfect for the PC.

Mad Max: Fury Road - Furiosa

Mad Max: Fury Road – Furiosa #1

Justin B: Mad Max Fury Road Furiosa #1 for read and possible flip. That first one with immortan joe and nux definitely made the movie cooler, this one should too.

Secret Identities #5

Secret Identities #5

Marc T: I've been enjoying the story a lot and, as with Copperhead, Faerber is one of the authors that i blindly follow.

Harley Quinn / Power Girl #1 Roux Variant

Harley Quinn / Power Girl #1 Roux Variant

Santos: Harley Quinn/Power Girl 1 1:25 variant for the Harley Quinn collection.

Stephen M:I'll probably grab a copy of Harley Quinn and Power Girl #1 by Conner. Can't go wrong wrong with all 3 of those ladies.

Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2 Bachalo Gwenpool Variant

Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2 Bachalo Gwenpool Variant

Stephen M: Also, Deadpool's Secret Secret War has a Gwenpool variant that I will pick up for PC.

Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2 Incentive Variant

Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #2 Incentive Variant

Iñigo S: I think this other cover might actually have a bit more staying power, with the Donkey Kong tribute.

The Fiction #1, Oh Killstrike #2 & Giant Days #4

The Fiction #1, Oh Killstrike #2 & Giant Days #4

Iñigo S: Breaking away from the format, but, as a reader, I am genuinely excited about Boom comics these days and this week's going to be a home run with Giant Days, Oh Killstrike and brand-new The Fiction coming out (I mean, the combination of these three titles won over my obvious choice, Mandrake #2, so that should give you an idea how excited I am about these). The one I am the most excited about is probably The Fiction as it features art by Spanish genius David Rubín (artist on Aurora West), but the other two come close behind. Give any/all of these a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

That's it for this week. What would you buy? There can be only one!
