New Week, New Covers!!

 CRIME DOES NOT PAY #24

CRIME DOES NOT PAY #24

(Lev Gleason)

One of the most coveted of all Crime books.  Not only does this sport an INSANE cover, it is also the first appearance of Mister Crime.  I want to thank Shaun Leggitt for reminding me about this book and just how demented it is(and how demented the two of us must be for wanting it).

28 Universal examples with an average grade of 4.95.  1 single 9.4 at the top, 1 single 1.5 at the bottom.  28 Copies seems really high to me for a crime book from the early 40s.

SHELF DATE of December 1942

 TIP TOP COMICS #188

TIP TOP COMICS #188

(St John)

1 of only 4 Peanuts covers in the Tip Top run, all four are near impossible to find.  If you are lucky enough to find one, the average low grade example will run you a few hundred dollars.  The reason, I believe, is because of multiple collector types chasing these hard to find books.

9 Universal copies on the CGC census with an average grade of 5.64.  0 Qualified, 0 Restored…  Book is not easy to find.

SHELF DATE of October 1954

As always, thanks for looking, folks!
