RunLoveKill, Convergence, Archie & Ambush Bug?

wednesday

One book to rule the week

If you could only choose one comic book to buy from all the new comics being released this Wednesday, what would it be?

We ask the staff here at ComicBookInvest.Com the same question and their answers are sometimes surprising. Made up of a wide range of comic book speculators, enthusiasts, and ne’er-do-wells, the staff prides itself on being able to identify the worthy from the unworthy each Wednesday.

Here's what they had to say this week:

RunLoveKill #1

RunLoveKill #1

Mark C: From feast to famine this week. Not much of anything I would open my wallet for. The winner this week is RunLoveKill #1. It has the most interesting title and most eye-catching cover. The story sounds okay too. It's a race against time for a fugitive assassin who is being hunted by the authorities inside a barricaded city. Bonus!

Michael C: Lots of good stuff coming out this week that I'm a regular reader of: BPRD, The Fade Out, Shutter, Stray Bullets. Also looking forward to seeing where the next issues of Ei8ht (man, that's annoying to type!) and D4ve (and so is that!) go. But, as far as the one that I'm looking forward to the most… It just might be RunLoveKill #1, from Image. If only because I'll get some new Eric Canete art to salivate over! Also, I believe the Art of He-Man book comes out this week. Not strictly comic-related, but…I'm really, REALLY excited about this one! Now, if we could just get an Art of G. I. Joe book…

Convergence #2

Convergence #2

Mark H: Convergence #2, even after the disappointing first issue with Bruce and Thomas Wayne finally meeting, I'm sold. Think that may be it for this week.

Inigo S: Loving the Jae Lee variant for this, might get it if I find it …

Convergence #2 Jae Lee Variant

Convergence #2 Jae Lee Variant

Revival #29

Revival #29

Ben C: Think its a pretty stale week, was looking at the releases earlier today, only book I plan on buying to read is Revival #29. It looks like DC is just Convergence everything, Image is a little lack luster, Marvel I can not stomach any current title, and the other Indie titles are just not doing it for me.

Chrononauts #2

Chrononauts #2

Brian W: I'm liking Chrononauts #2 cover B. Love the Top Gun cover. Run Love Kill #1 from Image looks like a good read. I liked reading Disney's Big Thunder Mountain #1 and #2 comes out this week. Betty And Veronica #275 has a Adam Hughes cover I'm going to pick up.

Archie vs Predator #1 Francavilla cover

Archie vs Predator #1 Francavilla cover

Bryan S: Not too excited for this week. A few variants caught my eye, though none seemed like a must buy: Archie Vs. Predator – Francavilla, Convergence #2 – Finch , Nutmeg #1, Uncanny X-Men cover swipe & limited to 2000.

Convergence: Supergirl Matrix

Convergence: Supergirl Matrix

Inigo S: My pick for the week has to be Convergence: Supergirl Matrix, but hear me out!!! Giffen writing his last Ambush Bug story (for now) and Tim Green II on art? It strangely makes a lot of sense as the only story with Ambush Bug published in the 80s Giffen had nothing to do was precisely in Supergirl #16. Ambush Bug fans represent!

That's it for this week. What would you buy? There can be only one!

Light week indeed, but that Jae Lee variant is nice!

Didn’t get my One pick in this week, but only because nothing really jumped out at me. I agree with Ben C that it’s a pretty slow week. Other than a couple of the more interesting sounding tie-ins, I’m skipping most of Convergence and Secret Wars so it will be a quiet few months from the Big 2 for me. I actually don’t mind the break from buying though with con season upon us.

For this week, I did pre-order the Archie vs Predator Francavilla cover. Don’t think it’s going to increase in value much, just looks like it could be interesting to read someday.
